Benjamin Bennett (1763-1818) manumitted several people in his will. At the time of his death he lived in Frederick County, MD, but I believe he was born in Anne Arundel County MD. Not sure where in Frederick County he lived, but other relatives lived in and near what is now Thurmont, but was known as Mechanicsville before 1870 or so. His will mentions EPs: Charles, Joshua, John, and Priss as well as "Sundry negros" previously freed. Among those freed earlier may be Charles' sister Bell and her 3 sons, one of whom was named Ned.
