James Billingslea died 1829 (Jones Co.) Will written March 19, 1829 (no children nor enslaved named) but the estate was VERY large. I chased the known children and will add those enslaved from this estate CHILDREN: • Amanda Frances Billingslea married Jesse F. JORDAN (he died 1848) she died 1890 • Ann F. Billingslea married William John HOWARD (he died 1873) she died 1870 (likely ALABAMA) • Mary E. Billingslea married Americus Columbus MITCHELL (he died 1891) she died 1895 seems they also lived in ALABAMA • Caroline A. Billingslea married 1st Reuben Clark SHORTER, Jr. from Jasper Co. he died 1853, she remarried a Lomax (he died 1862) she died 1906 (all died in ALABAMA from what I can tell) • Son, James Billingslea, JR died unmarried around 1856, his estate can be found in Jones County, GA citation: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-993B-YRD3?i=134&wc=9SBX-VZZ%3A267650401%2C267830401&cc=1999178 Wife, Elizabeth nee SLATTER was married first to William BUNKLEY, then to James BILLINGSLEA…..then to Samuel LOWTHER
