Will written 2 Aug 1785 and probated Oct 1785, gave wife Jean/Jane four negroes namely Lame Jack, Annaka, Lucy and Little Hannah; he also gave daughter Dolly one negro boy called Ben. Will says his other negroes were to be kept together "for the support & schooling" of each son in turn until the sons came of age. (Dolly married James Bradley and there is documentation from 1806 also of James paying Dolly's half-brothers for a negro woman named Pattey who was drawn from the Charles Burton estate by Edmond Burton.)
