- Frances' name is spelled "Francis" in some records. Frances' 1752 will mentions two Negro slaves, Molly and Antony. Frances was the widow of Paul L'Escott, pastor on the French Huguenot Church in Charleston in the early 1700s. Frances also entered into a Deed of Gift with her grandson, Paul Villepontoux (see separate Beyond Kin entry for Paul), on March 19, 1748 for a slave woman named Kate and her son named Billy.
