An advertisement in the January 2, 1845 edition of the Southern Banner (Athens, Georgia) announces a sheriff's sale of six negroes apparently owned by Michael Dickson to satisfy a judgement of a Walker County court brought by William G. Harris against Michael Dickson and Asa Dickson. The six negroes are described as: "Andy, about 32 years of age, Charity 20, Jack 12, George 6, Matthew 2, and Dennis 9 months old" [appears to be a single family].
