Paul Villepontoux entered into three mortgage agreements in which named slaves were used as collateral: February 14, 1761: Cyrus ("fellow"), Phillis ("his wife"), their children Sambo, Tom and Sarah, and Cloe ("wench"). December 17, 1774: Harriett ("Negro girl"). November 5, 1790 (the grantor is identified as Paul Villepontoux, Jr. and thus may be the son of the Paul Villepontoux mentioned above): Tom, April, Billy and Will.
