- Runaway slave ads from the estate of the late Isaac Lesesne, of Daniel's Island were posted in the September 10, 1794 and April 11, 1797 editions of The City Gazette (Charleston) seeking the return of Lucy, "a Negro wench." A runaway slave ad seeking the return of Cork, age 20, to Isaac Lesesne appeared in the June 9, 1792 edition of The City Gazette. It is unclear which Isaac Lesesne is being referred to. The senior Isaac Lesesne (Huguenot immigrant) had a plantation on Daniel's Island, but died in 1736. He had a son named Isaac (1709-1772) who also lived on Daniel's Island and also had a son named Isaac (born 1746, date of death unknown).
