Chowning, in the State of Louisiana, which negro said William C Chowning had hired of me and took to that country without my approbation, and what my said atto may lawfully do by virtue of these premises, I do, and will forever confirm, as much so, as if done by myself, being personally present, In Testimony where of I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal. this 22nd day of October in the year of our Lord, One thousand, Eight hundred and twenty one.
