Samuel Wroe, b. 1782 d. 1861 was part of a family with a long history of slaveholding and slave trading, including transport from Africa. Enslaved persons associated with him: Charlotte or Sharlot: willed to Samuel by his grandmother in 1784 when Samuel was aged 2. Still living with the extended Wroe family in 1810. Tom Smith. Worked at National Hotel, Washington DC. Escaped circa 1850.
