Sarah, b. abt 1830 recorded in a Power of Attorney for sale of Property. Found at Opelousas Courthouse in Nov. 2015. I did not get good source citation, but was found using the computer interface at the courthouse. Frederick Courtney and Mary Ann W. Courtney (1st wife) of Bayou Chicot, St Landry Parrish, La. appointed Christoval Toledano and/or John Taylor of New Orleans to be his attorney granting full power of attorney to "sell and dispose of a certain negro slave named Sarah, aged about fifteen years." [Legal jargon implies that Sarah was a dower slave belonging to Mary Ann before marriage. Mary Ann was a Keller, daughter of Wilson Keller (1805-1828) and Anna Montgomery Keller Fenner Anderson (1810-1889).] I have a photo copy of transaction from courthouse records.
