Comments
FamilySearch has numerous records associated with persons enslaved by Luder F. Behling (b. ca. 1815 in Germany, resident of Charleston, SC). It has been speculated that at least one of those EPs may have been an ancestor of the famous signer James Brown, whose family tree includes a Behling branch from Colleton County, SC. These records include bills of sale that mention EPs by name.
