Comments
Stephen Pace died in 1872 in Macon County, AL. Supposedly the family Bible listing the persons he enslaved was burned. There is documentation of several of his EP's in USCT Civil War Pension deposition records. An entire family headed by EPs Jim and Beckie is named in one such record. Pace purchased them from his father-in-law, the Rev. John Artis.
