his death 1855 “… first, after my lawful debts are paid and discharged, the residue of my estate, real and personal, I give, bequeath and dispose of as follows. I desire to give to my brother William Joseph Lee, the following named Negroes to wit, Ned, aged 58 years (abt 1797), Lucy, aged about 40 (abt 1815), Franklin, aged 16 years (abt 1839), Thomas, aged about 14 years (abt 1841) and the balance of all my property I give and bequeath to my sister Susan Catherine Hendrick and her bodily heirs.”
