- "Ten Dollars Reward. RAN AWAY from the subscriber, living at Mossy Creek Iron Works, Augusta County, at out the first of August last, a likely Negro man named PRINCE. About 35 years of age, 5 feet 9 or ten inches high, very black, thick lips, and very fond of drinking. Had on when he went away but very indifferent clothes. Whoever takes up said negro, and secures him, so that I get him again, shall receive the above reward, and all reasonable charges paid if brought home. He has a scar on each cheek, opposite each other, about the size of a bit." - Newspapers.com. Virginia Herald and Fredericksburg Advertiser, 15 Nov 1792.
