- My husband and children descend from Silas Omohundro, an agent of the slave-trading firm of Franklin & Armfield. He eventually opened his own slave jail. Contrary to previous genealogy records, we have discovered that he had children with two enslaved sisters whom he kept as concubines - Louisa and Martha Tandy. Martha reportedly died in Richmond. Silas sent Louisa and the children to Ohio and visited her there yearly. More children were born. We are interested in finding information about the origins of the Tandy sisters. Both were light-skinned and eventually passed as white.
