From Capt. Thomas Hart's 1721 will: "…I also give him [i.e., son Josiah Hart] my Right or part of Richard Negro oʳ Servant on These Conditions That he my Son Josiah Hart mantain for my beloved wife So Long as shee bares my Name a Cow & Nesesary fier wood… …I Give Unto my five Sons… all the Remaining part of my Estate… Excepting fifteen acres of Land at thᵉ wet End of my Lot or division In thᵉ West Division & westermost Rang or Teer of Lots it Being In thᵉ Sixth Teer of Lots which I give unto Richard Negrow our Servant to be his own free & Clear after he has finished his Servis according to thᵉ wrighting my son gave hi[m?] Excepting my sons shall se cause to Lay out unto him fifteen acors In Some other division of Land: which fifteen acors of Land is for his Incoragment if he tary in thᵉ town & Improve it but if He Shall after his Time is out according unto his agreement with my son Josiah Hart Leave thᵉ town then to Return unto my sons."
