- Hello - I hope to further my family research here for Devereux family (African-American) out of Hancock County GA. Most interested in: Devereux/Devereaux slave owner Wills (or any other personal docs) that may list slaves by name. Goal is to locate owners of a Manuel/Emanuel Devereux, as well his wife's - owners of Annette/Antoinette/Nettie Collier. These are my great-great grandparents. I think Samuel McDowell Devereux/Ann Loyd and their families' Wills are the link. I've only located 2-3 wills of this family, but no luck finding a "noticeable" link to my bloodline. Also researching: Lundy - Devereux connections. Lewis/Louis Lundy out of Coweta County fathered children in late 1800s with 2 sisters: Ellen and Anna Devereux. Goal is to link any info (pics, docs, etc.) passed down to Ellen & Anna's children pertaining to the sisters' parents - Manuel/Emanuel Devereux, and Annette/Antoinette/Nettie Collier Filling in missing info (marriage certificates, or obituaries) for John Wesley Devereux - my great grandfather, and his second wife Emma Warren (maiden name questionable). Believed to have had at least 2 sons before becoming Mrs Emma Devereux. Her Sons: Ezekiel Warren and Mairon/Marion/Myron Warren
