AMEY "a negro girl" Augustine purchased Amey at the estate sale for his father, William Dunn, on December 15, 1808, in Garrard County, Kentucky. Garrard County Will Book C Page 237 ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Augustine, in his will executed January 20, 1835, Garrard County, Kentucky, named the following: AMERICA (described as negro woman) BENJAMIN (described as negro man) GEORGE (described as negro man) JACK (described as old negro man) MALINDA (described as old negro woman) PRISEY and her children JACK, PATTY, MARTHA, MARY, HENRY CLAY Augustine left America, Benjamin, and George to his wife Eleanor. Augustine noted that eh had previously given Jack to daughter Harriet, Malinda to son Joshua Dunn, and Prisey and her children to son James Dunn on James's 21st birthday (circa 1822). Garrard County, Kentucky Will Book I Page 17 ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Augustine executed a codicil to his will in September of 1836. In that, he named: SMITH( described as a negro boy) BILL (described as a negro boy) Augustine had given Smith to son John Dunn, and Bill to daughter Harriet, sometime between the time he executed his will in January of 1835, and the execution of this codicil in September of 1836.
