The 1864 Slave Census shows that the Steuart Family owned 126 slaves (Owner = Maria L. Steuart, by her representative William D. Steuart). There are several common last names on the list including Sorrick, Rawlings, Brown, Hammond, Hawkins, Stewart and Gannt. I have created a couple of trees for more unusual names in hopes of tracing descendants but have not had much luck, yet. These were all in District 1 of Anne Arundel County - in the area that is now Davidsonville. Descendants of the Steuart family still own the farm.

A few private trees on Ancestry - email for access (not public, because I'm not certain they're accurate).
