Slaves in the possession of, and 3 reported to have been fathered by, SH Methodist Bishop James Osgood Andrew of Georgia, he owned EP "Miss" Kitty, and her children (his children): daughter (EP) Emma who settled in Pine Bluff, Arkansas; son (EP) Russell Nathan Boyd, who became a librarian in the US Department of State in Washington D.C.; and son (EP) Alford Boyd, who escaped from slavery in Alabama, made his way to Iowa, and become an ordained minister in the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church (location not mentioned.) Rev. Boyd had a great-grandson, Lee Caldwell, who was senior trustee of Allen Chapel AME in Rockford, IL. Lee Caldwell had two daughters, Darcel and Cynthia Caldwell of Philadelphia. It is thought that their enslaved ancestor, Miss Kitty, referred to herself as (EP) Catherine Boyd.
